

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago - April 11th, 2009: The Tourism Development Company (TDC) in conjunction with Pan Trinbago will be hosting the "Summit Sensations", a special edition of the popular Panyard Sensations series. The three night concerts are being staged with delegates and other persons to the Fifth Summit of the Americas in mind.
A spin off of the immensely popular Pan Yard Sensations which showcases the best of pan in a concert format alongside other elements of culture, "Summit Sensations" will be held at three different venues in Port of Spain.
The first event is on Friday 17 April at the bp Renegades Pan Theatre, Charlotte Street, Port of Spain. Featured steelbands are Courts Sound Specialists of Laventille, TCL Group Skiffle Bunch and host band bp Renegades. Showtime is 8:00pm
The action shifts to the Trinidad All Stars Panyard, Duke Street, Port of Spain, on Saturday 18 April where Neal & Massy Trinidad All Stars, WITCO Desperadoes and CLICO Sforzata, Panorama Medium Band 2009 winner, will share the spotlight. Showtime 8:00pm
On the final night, Sunday 19 April, Panorama Champion Large Band category Silver Stars, Caribbean Airlines Invaders, Couva Joylanders, will perform at the Queen's Park Oval, Tragerate Road. Showtime is 6:00pm
There is an admission fee of TT$100. or US$20. to each concert.
"Summit Sensations" is being staged to coincide with this country's hosting 33 world leaders and their delegation at the Fifth Summit of the Americas in April 2009.
The showcase gives visitors, international media personnel and members of the public a golden opportunity to enjoy the sounds of the national instrument and view selected aspects of Trinidad & Tobago culture in a post-carnival scenario.

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago - April 11th, 2009: For one week, the Waterfront on Wrightson Road in Port of Spain will come alive with a potpourri of activities, which will form part of the Summit Village for the Fifth Summit of the Americas 2009.
The National Secretariat for the Fifth Summit of the Americas has organised the Summit Village as both an indoor and outdoor space for visiting delegates and media to learn about Trinidad and Tobago, as well as purchase local art.
However, the national community is not left out of the activities, which will take place from Monday 13th April to Sunday 19th April, 2009.
The Indoor Pavilion will be located on the ground floor of the International Financial Centre, Tower C, 1A Wrightson Road, Port of Spain, while the Outdoor Pavilion will be located on the quay side area, just west of the Hyatt Regency Hotel, stretching to the Femmes du Chalet.
The Indoor Pavilion will be a general services area which would cater to some of the logistical requirements of the media and delegates attending the Fifth Summit of the Americas from April 17-19.
The Outdoor Pavilion will be designed to encourage visitors to lounge, shop and be entertained by some of the country’s foremost entertainers like Shurwayne Winchester; Relator; Mungal Patasar; The Codrington Family; H2O Phlo; David Bereaux and Friends; Sitara Baal; Tobago Reel; The Shiv Shakti Dancers and David Rudder.
The public is invited to enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of the Summit Village on Monday April 13th and Tuesday April 14th, 2009 from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m. and on Wednesday April 15th, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The Summit Village will however be closed to the public from Thursday April 16th to Sunday April 19th. At that time only accredited personnel attending the Fifth Summit of the Americas can attend. On Friday and Saturday the Village will operate from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Thursday, April 9 – Kingston, Jamaica: Coming off last Friday’s ‘Moulin Rouge’ fete at the Mas Camp, Bacchanal Jamaica is showing no signs of slowing down before the big road march on Sunday April 19.
Bacchanal Jamaica along with Digicel ups the tempo of the carnival vibe starting this Saturday, April 11th with Beach J’ouvert at James Bond Beach and continuing the fun next week Wednesday with Soca @ De Sandbar at Lime Quay, and Bacchanal J’ouvert on April 17th at the Mas Camp.
Bacchanal Jamaica and Digicel wishes to advise the public that their carnival parade will be taking place on the streets of Kingston on April 19th, 2009.
The carnival parade titled “Bacchanal Gone Hollywood” will begin at 10am on Mona Road and will follow the same route as last year, ending at the Mas Camp. Band preparations have been finalized and spectators are invited to come out and view Bacchanal Jamaica’s grand carnival extravaganza.
Hitting the road strong, Bacchanal Jamaica boasts nine costume sections and live entertainment including Trinidadian group Imij & Co., DJ Smoke from Renaissance, DJ Omar C from Sparkles, DJ Billy and Trinidad’s very own DJ Private Ryan.
Digicel’s Sponsorships and Event Manager, Tahnida Nunes says Digicel is excited about the grand Carnival finale: “The bigger, better beat continues this Easter weekend with Beach J’Ouvert which promises to be filled with high energy and exciting action, just before soca diva Destra turns up the heat inside Mas Camp once again for Bacchanal J’Ouvert, the perfect kick start into the last hurrah – the big road march on April 19. And as always with Digicel there is more. Patrons will also have a chance to win more prizes from Digicel at both Beach and Bacchanal J’ouvert.”
